Draft

This text is a draft under legal review. It describes how things are meant to work, but it is not legal advice and not yet final.

This policy covers Scrap Core: Overclocked, a Roblox experience published by the Roblox group Kozma Works.

What Roblox handles

You play Scrap Core through your Roblox account. Roblox, not us, handles your account and login, age checks, friends, text chat, voice chat where it is enabled, moderation, and every Robux purchase and payment. We never see your password, email address, real name, payment details or your chat history. Roblox’s privacy policy: roblox.com/info/privacy.

What the game itself saves

So that your progress is there the next time you dive, the game saves the following in Roblox’s data storage, linked to your Roblox user ID:

  • your Core Scrap, unlocked classes, weapon Cores and modules, and class trials used;
  • the skins you own and wear (and which skin game passes you own);
  • Daily Order progress, your return streak and the days you dived;
  • badges earned, and which tips and release notes you have already seen;
  • who invited you to the game, if someone did (their Roblox user ID);
  • your settings;
  • lifetime statistics: runs, enemies defeated, revives, distance carried and time played.

Legal basis: performing our agreement with you, the game’s terms of use (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We keep this until [X] after you last played [TODO: owner decides], or until you ask us to delete it. A deletion, also when Roblox forwards the request on your behalf, covers your profile, your leaderboard entries, your run records and your user ID where it is saved in the profile of a player you invited. Roblox’s storage may keep earlier versions for a limited time before they disappear.

Leaderboards

The Dock shows two leaderboards, one for Standard runs and one for Short Runs. They show your Roblox name and the number of full expeditions you have completed. The entries are stored with your Roblox user ID and have no expiry of their own; they go when your data is deleted. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in offering a shared ranking (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Matchmaking and groups

To put a crew together and move it between the Dock and the reactor, the game keeps short-lived records in Roblox’s servers: queue entries, group invitations and the run you are in. They expire on their own, within hours at most.

Play statistics

We use Roblox’s built-in analytics to understand how the game is played: when runs start and end, how far crews get, which builds and classes they choose, how the Dock and the shop are used, Daily Orders, invitations, and technical figures such as frame rate and loading time. We look at these in Roblox’s Creator Dashboard, in aggregate, to fix problems and balance the game.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running, balancing and improving the game.

Run records

When a session or run ends, the game also writes a run record to Roblox’s data storage. It holds your Roblox name and user ID, the time to your first defeated enemy, enemies defeated, times you went down, the weapons you used, session and run length, how the run ended, the run mode, the scrap earned and banked, details of your escape, your frame rate and whether you use reduced effects. This is not limited to playtests. We use these records to find problems and balance the game.

The records have no automatic expiry at present. We keep them for [X] [TODO: owner decides]. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in balancing and improving the game (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Purchases

Skins are sold as Roblox game passes for Robux. Roblox processes the purchase and only tells the game that you own the pass. Every skin can also be earned with Core Scrap, and nothing sold in the game gives an advantage in a fight.

Nothing outside Roblox

The game sends no data to any service outside Roblox. Roblox Corporation is based in the USA, so everything described here is stored and processed outside the European Union as well. Roblox’s privacy policy describes the safeguards it uses.

For all our games

Who is responsible for your data

The maker of this game and the controller of the personal data the game itself processes is Árpád Kozma, sole proprietor (egyéni vállalkozó), trading as Kozma Works; registered address: Szabadság tér 6., 2337 Délegyháza, Hungary; registering authority: Ministry of the Interior of Hungary (register of sole proprietors); registration number: 62570660; EU VAT ID: HU92217287; e-mail: hello@kozmaworks.com. In privacy matters, write “Privacy” in the subject line.

Platforms and services we work with (Google, Roblox and others named above) are responsible for the data they collect themselves, under their own privacy policies.

Principles we follow in every game

  • We collect only what the game needs to work, to stay fair, and to be improved.
  • We do not sell personal data, and we do not build profiles of players ourselves.
  • We never ask for your name, address, phone number or any other contact detail inside a game.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict its use, ask for it in a portable format where the law provides for that (Article 20 GDPR), and object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect what happened before. For data that a platform holds, use that platform’s own tools as well (they are linked above). We answer within one month. To find your data, we may ask for your player name or user ID, but never for a password.

If you think we handle your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Hungarian data protection authority, Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH), Falk Miksa utca 9–11, 1055 Budapest, naih.hu, or to the authority where you live. You can also go to court: in Hungary, the regional court (törvényszék) has jurisdiction, and you can choose the one of your home address.

Children

We design our games to be fair and safe for their audience, and we follow the age rules of the platform the game runs on. Children can play our Roblox games. We treat their data the same way as everyone else’s: we handle only what this policy lists, linked to their Roblox user ID, and we never ask for a child’s name or contact details. For Glowbug Swap, see “Age” above. A parent can ask us at any time what we hold about their child and can ask us to delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new date. If the change is significant, we will also say so in the game or on its store page.
