Rumor Has It terms of use
Draft
This text is a draft under legal review. It describes how things are meant to work, but it is not legal advice and not yet final.
These terms apply to Rumor Has It: Urban Legends on Roblox, together with the Roblox Terms of Use and Roblox’s community standards.
Playing is free
The game is free to play. The starting outfit and tools are complete on their own: you can finish every case without buying anything. Hats change only your look. Kits (the Lantern, the Danger meter and the Salt pouch) change how you can play and can help in some situations, each at a price or with a limit.
Case points, tokens and Robux
Case points are earned by sealing cases and spent on hats and kits. Style Tokens and Gear Tokens can be bought with Robux, each unlocking one hat or one kit. Every hat and kit can also be earned with case points. Tokens and points have no value outside the game and cannot be traded. Robux purchases and private servers are processed by Roblox under its own terms, including its rules on refunds. A private server is a recurring payment until you cancel it in your Roblox account.
Horror, gently
Rumor Has It is a horror game built on urban legends. It is meant to be eerie, not gory: the worst moments happen off screen, and there are settings for reduced flashing and high contrast. Its Roblox content maturity label tells you what to expect; please check it before you play or let a younger player join.
A game in development
Cases, legends, districts and rules will change while the game is in development. Hats and kits you unlocked stay yours as long as the game runs.
For all our games
Who you are agreeing with
These terms are an agreement between you and Árpád Kozma, sole proprietor (egyéni vállalkozó), trading as Kozma Works; registered address: Szabadság tér 6., 2337 Délegyháza, Hungary; registering authority: Ministry of the Interior of Hungary (register of sole proprietors); registration number: 62570660; EU VAT ID: HU92217287; e-mail: hello@kozmaworks.com.
The store or platform you got the game from (Google Play, Roblox) has its own terms, which also apply. Payments, refunds and accounts are handled under the platform’s terms. Neither those terms nor these take away your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Your licence to play
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play the game for your own, non-commercial enjoyment. You may stream it and make videos of it, including monetised ones; we are happy when you do.
You may not copy, resell or redistribute the game, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, or use cheats, exploits or automation that spoil the game for other players or for its economy.
Play fair
Treat other players the way you would like to be treated. Harassment, hate speech and scams are not welcome in our games, and the platform’s community rules apply in full. We may suspend or remove the progress of players who cheat or abuse others.
Virtual items
Virtual items, currencies and unlocks in our games have no value outside the game and cannot be exchanged for real money. They give you a licence to use them in the game, not ownership. We may rebalance the game; we will not take away something you paid for without replacing it or refunding it, unless you broke these terms.
The game changes
Our games are updated, sometimes a lot, especially while in development. Features can change or be removed. If we ever have to shut a game down, we will announce it in advance in the game or on its page.
Liability
We make our games with care. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights apply, including the right to digital content that conforms to the contract, and these terms do not limit them. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, Kozma Works is not liable for indirect damage, lost data or lost profit arising from use of the game. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intentional or grossly negligent harm, for harm to life, body or health, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Hungarian law; the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live also apply. Most problems can be solved by email, so please write to us first.
Complaints and dispute resolution
Send complaints to hello@kozmaworks.com. We answer in writing within 30 days. If we cannot agree and you are a consumer, you can turn to:
- the conciliation body (békéltető testület) of the place where you live, free of charge. The one for our seat is the Pest Vármegyei Békéltető Testület, 1055 Budapest, Balassi Bálint utca 25. IV/2., pmbekelteto@pmkik.hu; the list of all Hungarian bodies is at bekeltetes.hu;
- the consumer protection authority, which in Hungary is the government office (kormányhivatal) of your county or district;
- the court.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms if the game, the law or a platform’s rules change. The current version is always at this address. We will announce significant changes in advance, in the game or on its page. A change never takes away something you already paid for, and if you do not accept it you can stop playing.
